This is in line with the company's strategy of expanding rail freight market and establishing a consolidated rail transport chain connected with the ports of Latvia.

The move will allow RZDL to provide the stability and regularity of rail westbound transit.

"Currently we have a joint venture JSC Euro Rail Trans operating at that area. We believe that the cooperation with the Latvian based freight forwarder will give us a lot of new opportunities at multimodal-transport market of EU."

Registered in accordance with the legislation of Latvia, LNT is a licensed freight forwarder.

With this acquisition, LNT will benefit from a range of law support from Russian Railways Logistics in the freight forwarding market of Russia.

This will in turn allow LNT to increase its effectiveness as rail freight forwarder.

The financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.
