Implementation of the CargoSphere technology is in line with SCS's strategy to integrate its manual rate processing practices into a comprehensive rate system in order to bring in efficiency and save time.

The new cloud-based, online technology will enable SCS to connect with its global branch offices and agent partners in real time.

The CargoSphere rate system allows SCS to search and compare ocean rates from all sources quickly, which in its turn improves the customer response.

CargoSphere's SUDS (smart upload and diagnostic solution) also facilitates management of ocean carrier contracts, export and import.

SCS international pricing and carrier development manager Melissa Hermenitt said: "We are now sending customer quotes faster and more effectively using timely, accurate freight rate data housed in one, easy-to-use, all-inclusive system.

Earlier, rate information from agent partners would be received by SCS via email which used to delay the process.
